how we got here
At Seals Guy, we believe business is built on trust, relationships, and showing up when it matters. After 24 years in corporate hospitality, our founder, Scott Kent, noticed gasket replacement and monitoring as a pain point and niche for many customers he served. So he stepped away from the corporate world to build something more personal — something rooted in service, integrity, and local partnership. In 2007, he founded Seals Guy with a simple mission: help restaurants and foodservice operators protect their equipment, reduce waste, and stay inspection-ready without the headaches of large, impersonal service providers.
What started as one man serving the Kansas City metro has grown into a true multi-state family business. Tyler Kent and Lisa Kent joined the vision, bringing operational discipline and long-term growth strategy to the company. Together, they built a service model centered on preventative maintenance, ownership of relationships, and in-house gasket manufacturing aligned with OEM standards.
In April 2025, Tyler returned to the KC area after scaling another business on the East Coast and purchased Seals Guy, ushering in a new chapter. Since then, Seals Guy has expanded from 2 states to 8, doubled its customer footprint and strengthened its infrastructure to support multi-location operators across the region. We see tremendous opportunity ahead as we continue to grow Seals Guy into a trusted regional leader in commercial refrigeration gasket replacement and preventative maintenance.
